iTunes Connect & TestFlight with The Same Apple ID

Product:iTunes Connect Product Version:iTunes Connect
Classification:Serious Bug Reproducible:Yes

Summary:
Currently an apple id can only be associated with one iTunes Connect at a time. This causes an issue with the new TestFlight ability with internal testers (I assume the same for external as well). As a developer I have multiple clients and I need to be an internal tester on all of them.

Apple support said I would need to make multiple apple ids and then log out and in on the TestFlight app on my phone. HOWEVER, upon further investigation I do not even see the ability to logout and switch apple id accounts within the TestFlight application.

THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE FOR DEVELOPERS. This makes it so that I cannot start using the TestFlight feature on many of my clients applications.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Associate an apple id with an iTunes Connect Account.
2. Try to associate an apple id with another iTunes Connect Account.
3. Receive an error.

Expected Results:
I would expect it to work much like the Developer Portal does with the same Apple ID.

Actual Results:
You get an error and are unable to add an apple id.

Version:
iTunes Connect Web

Same Issue

This is a huge issue for us as switching Apple Ids creates conflicts with testing Apps for other clients that are on the same device. Please allow for Internal testers to link to existing iTunes Connect accounts.

I have the exact same issue. As it stands, it simply means no developer with a personal Apple ID can use TestFlight on their phones without a serious headache. I see no reason that TestFlight should use the same ID as the iTunes store -- if these were decoupled, or if iTunesConnect's bizarre insistence on having a new ID for every team member were made a bit more lenient, it would be a great experience.

Same Issue

We're having the same issue. We use company emails for testing purposes, not personal apple IDs. This change is not ideal to our current process.

We'd prefer if TestFlight were not so strongly connected to the apple ID on the device.

I am part of the company and many others. The issue is that I am an Internal Tester (and developer) at MULTIPLE companies and do not want to have to:

1) Wait for the external testing build to be approved Or 2) Keep signing in and out of the iTunes & App Store on my device.

The other issue is I can not use your solution because external testing is not yet available and to add to that, will external testing allow the same Apple Ids on multiple iTunes Connect accounts? (However do note that the external testing does not solve the issue).

Apple Developer Relations

Engineering has determined that this issue behaves as intended based on the following:

If you're not a part of the company, sounds like you need to be using external testing where any email address can be invited to beta test a version. The testflight account used on device is the same one that's logged into the iTunes store. It can be changed from settings --> iTunes & App Store

Please update your bug report to let us know if this is still an issue for you.
