Apple Mail not saving Smart Mailboxes

Summary:

When creating Smart Mailboxes in Mail and closing Mail afterwards, the newly created mailboxes will not be there anymore after re-starting the app.

Steps to Reproduce:

Open Mail, create a Smart Mailbox (say "Unread" for all unread messages), close Mail, re-open it.

Expected Results:

The created Smart Mailboxes should still be there.

Actual Results:

The Mailboxes are gone.

I can reproduce this bug on my 2011 MacBook Air and my 2010 iMac (both running 10.8.3).

Solved using chmod -a 'everyone deny write,delete,append,writeattr,writeextattr,chown' ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~mail/Data/MailData/* ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~mail/Data/MailData/Signatures/*
