Calendar App in the Simulator (as well as other Apps)

Status:Open Resolved:
Product:iPhone SDK Product Version:4.2
Classification:Enhancement Reproducible:Always

Summary:
There's no Calendar App on the Simulator so it makes working with EKEventKit painful.

Steps to Reproduce:
Use EKEventKit, look for the Calendar app on the simulator, oh, no, there isn't such a thing :)

Expected Results:
Much like there's an AddressBook app I'd like to see a Calendar app.

Actual Results:
No Calendar App

Notes:
I'm not gonna submit a Bug Report but the same applies to SMS and other Frameworks which now obliges one to use the device. One solution would be to have WiFi/BT deployment (cables aren't cool, you know) and some kind of VNC to the device.

Comments

Apple says there "is", but I really don't see where. You?

This is a follow-up to Bug ID# 8693766.

Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue:

There is a Calendar app in the simulator. We use it with the 4.2 SDK install all the time.

Maybe resetting the Sim environment might help. To set the user content and settings of the simulator to their factory state and remove the applications you have installed, choose iOS Simulator > Reset Content and Settings.

Failing that, maybe a clean removal and install of the final 4.2 Xcode tools might clear this up for the dev. We believe there is a shell script bundled with Xcode that will cleanly remove it before the re-install.
